Dr Phil Barr BVSc CertSAM MRCVS Clinical Director

Phil Barr qualified from Bristol University Vet School in 1991 and after a year in ‘exotic’ animal practice where he did his best to treat the odd monkey, meercat and crocodile, he made the move back to small animal practice (dogs, cats and other small pets).

He worked in several practices in the South East, eventually gaining a post-graduate RCVS qualification in Small Animal Medicine in 1998.

Phil joined Wood Street Veterinary Hospital and became a partner in 2001. Phil remains enthusiastic about all aspects of veterinary practice with special emphasis on medical investigation techniques such as ultrasound and endoscopy, as well as cardiology.

He is a member of the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society and the European Society of Veterinary Cardiology, and is an RCVS Advanced Practitioner (Small Animal Medicine).

At home Phil has a pair of lovely, if slightly naughty, cats as well as 2 small children to ensure his time is fully occupied!
